The latest result marks an improvement from L-NU’s No. 1,145 global ranking in 2025, reflecting the University’s continuing efforts to promote sustainable practices across its campus, academic programs, research, and community initiatives.

The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings evaluates universities based on seven key areas: Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, Education, and Governance and Digitalization.

L-NU’s sustainability efforts are reflected in various programs and initiatives, including the L-NU Goes Solar, TREE FOR THEE mangrove planting and coastal restoration activities, HALAMAN Program, and the transformation of the Sustainable Development Goal PACO Park. The University also implements waste management and plastic-reduction policies, promotes sustainable transportation, and incorporates sustainability and SDG mapping into academic instruction.

The University’s participation in environmental and community-based initiatives, including the TULIP Project for wetland conservation and citizen science, further demonstrates the role of Lyceans in advancing environmental awareness, research, and community action.

The 2026 ranking serves as another milestone in L-NU’s continuing journey toward a greener, more resilient, and sustainable university, where education extends beyond the classroom and contributes to the protection of communities and the environment.
