Admission of Student into the Medical Program

Academic Requirements
Students applying for admission into the College of Medicine must be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in Science or Arts and should have earned credits in the following subjects which could either be within or in addition to the baccalaureate degree requirement: 1) Chemistry, 10 units; 2) Biological sciences 15 units; 3) Physics, 5 units; and 4) Mathematics 9 units.

National Medical Admission Test  (NMAT)
Student-Applicants must have taken and passed the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) administered by the Center for Educational Measurement and not more than two years from time of application.

Criteria for Student Selection
Applicants will be ranked and selected according to their average using the following criteria:

  1. General weighted average obtained from the premedical course      60%                
  2. NMAT Result (40% and above)                                                                 20%                                                                                            
  3. Interview                                                                                                       20%
    – Motivation to be a good physician
    – Social consciousness
    – Stress tolerance
    – Integrity

 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Freshmen
Applicants seeking for admission into the College of Medicine must submit the following documents for  evaluation purposes:

  1. Official Transcript of Records
  2. NMAT result (ERF)
  3. Interview schedule to be obtained from the Admissions Secretariat / Dean’s Office
  4. (Optional) * PRC Board Rating certificate (for Entrance Scholarship only)
  5. Application/Evaluation Fee of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) non-refundable, payable at the Cashier’s Office, Teller 1.


Student-Transferee

  1. Certified copy of the NMAT result
  2. Certification of subjects taken and grades obtained from a medical school
  3. *Valid Student Visa, ICard and passport bio-page for foreign students
  4. Certificate of Good Moral Character from former professor / Dean
  5. Application/Evaluation Fee of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) non-refundable, payable at the Cashier’s Office, Teller 1.

Note: Qualified applicants will be notified of their acceptance and enrollment through e-mail or text message. 


REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT

Students admitted for enrollment into the four-year medical program must submit the following documents to the Admissions Secretariat:

  • Properly filled up Application Form for Admission to Medicine
  • Original copy of National Medical Admission Test (NMAT)
  • Transfer Credential Certificate
  • Transcript of Records (OTR) showing completion of degree course
  • Certified photocopy of College Diploma or   Certificate of Graduation
  • Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Birth Certificate
  • Valid NBI Clearance or Police Clearance
  • Four (4 pcs.) 2 x 2 pictures
  • Medical Health Certificate including Chest X-Ray, Fecalysis, Urinalysis, CBC, Hepa B Surface Antigen screening
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Admission to Medicine (CEAM)  

Foreign Students

  • Official Transcript of Records and Certificate of Graduation must be duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country of origin or legal residence;
         – Foreign students who finished the BS course in the Philippines need not apply for authentication of transcript of records in his country
  • Four (4) Original Personal History Statement (PHS) with photos
  • Photocopy of Passport pages where name, photo, birthdate and birthplace appear
  • Affidavit of Support
  • Student Visa and ACR-ICard (and other BID documents)

Note: Foreign Student  reports  to the Foreign Student Unit  for  further guidance in the processing of  CEAM, Student Visa and  ACR-ICard

 Student-Transferee:

  • Transfer Credential Certificate (accompanied by a Certification of Grades)
  • Certified photocopies of the following:
    • Certificate of Eligibility for Admission to Medicine (CEAM)
    • NMAT result
    • Pre-Medical Transcript of Records
  • PSA Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character from former professor / Dean
  • 3 copies of 2×2 pictures
  • CHED’s approval for transfer (for special cases)
