Advancing Research Productivity:
R1HRDC-RUC and CBC Host Research Publication Training

The Region1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC) recently held a Research Publication Training at Paragon Hotel and Suites, Baguio City on September 26-27, 2024. The training was spearheaded by the consortiumβs Research Utilization Committee (RUC) in collaboration with the Capacity Building Committee (CBC). This event, which included active participation from Lyceum-Northwestern University (L-NU), aimed to enhance the research skills of participants, particularly in publishing their research papers in reputable academic journals. The training featured 3 lecturers with different expertise. Dr. Rhowell Dellosa, the Center Head of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Environment Research of PSU shared his expertise on effectively preparing and publishing research and provided practical strategies in navigating the complexities of the publication process with the aid of AI tools, while Dr. Rosalyn Rosal the Research Director of VMUF discussed the essential IMRAD format, guiding participants on structuring their papers for maximum clarity and impact.
Dr. Cynthia P. Lopez, the VP for Research and Innovation Management of L-NU discussed the significance of the angle approach in writing research for publication, emphasizing that a unique perspective can significantly enhance the impact of research publication. By framing findings through a distinct viewpoint, researchers can offer fresh insights that engage readers and increase the likelihood of publication in reputable journals.
This collaboration between the RUC and CBC of R1HRDC with resource speakers from its member institutions, underscores a shared commitment to advancing research capabilities in the region. By fostering a culture of academic excellence and supporting researchers through capacity-building efforts, these institutions are empowering professionals and students to make significant contributions to scientific knowledge and innovation.
