Yesterday, July 14, 2025, students of the College of Optometry gathered at the Dr. Salvador T. Duque Fieldhouse for this yearโs annual orientationโan event designed not just to inform, but to inspire.
More than a series of briefings, the orientation served as a first step into a professional identity. Students were introduced to the culture, expectations, and values that define the college, with moments of insight shared by faculty and officers who once stood in the same seats. 
The atmosphere was one of purpose, optimism, and welcomeโa reminder that becoming an optometrist starts not only with studying but with belonging to a community that supports, challenges, and grows together.
This is the beginning of a long, meaningful journey. With clear minds and focused hearts, our students step into the year ahead ready to learn, lead, and see beyond.
