IMPORTANT ACADEMIC ADVISORY

As many roads leading to the University, as well as the homes of some of our students and faculty members, remain affected by floodwaters and the continuing effects of the habagat, Lyceum-Northwestern University will continue to prioritize the safety, well-being, and welfare of the entire L-NU community.

To allow sufficient time for the University to clean, sanitize, and repair areas affected by the flooding, all lecture classes shall continue under remote flexible learning arrangements (non-face-to-face modalities) until further notice.

Likewise, the Preliminary Examinations scheduled on September 8–9, 2026 shall be administered through remote flexible arrangements (non-face-to-face arragements). Faculty members are reminded to apply the principles of flexible assessment, including equity and accessibility, reasonable accommodations, flexible deadlines when warranted, alternative or special examinations for students affected by flooding or connectivity concerns, authentic assessment, and appropriate academic integrity safeguards.

Our faculty members have undergone several training and retraining activities to prepare them for the effective implementation of flexible learning and assessment. Examinations should still be administered on the scheduled dates while maintaining appropriate flexibility. If conditions already permit, duties, internships, OJTs, and other experiential learning activities may resume in the succeeding days, subject to prevailing conditions and with student and faculty safety remaining the primary consideration.

Students who need assistance or have inquiries may access the L-NU Virtual Support Desk. Google Meet links and schedules are posted on the official L-NU Facebook Page.

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) and the Human Resource Development Office (HRD) will monitor the implementation of these arrangements to ensure appropriate compliance and support.

We ask everyone for continued understanding, cooperation, and compassion for members of our community who are still experiencing the effects of the flooding.

Learning continues, but safety comes first.
