L-NU Shines at 115th PDA Convention

The 115th Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Convention commenced on May 13, 2024, attracting a diverse array of dentists from across the country, including faculty and students from the L-NU College of Dentistry. The scientific lectures featured a distinguished roster of renowned speakers from both local and international backgrounds, who shared their knowledge and perspectives on various oral health and dentistry topics. The seminars, covering a wide range of subjects, were attended by a substantial number of delegates. The lectures provided in-depth information on the latest advancements and methodologies in dentistry.

 A poster presentation and competition were held on May 14, 2024. Two 6th-year dental students were among the finalists: Mr. Christian F. Macapagal, for his study titled, “Perception and Attitude of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Dental Students in the Implementation of Simulated Dental Learning (SDL)”, and Ms. Cyrelle Kate L. De Guzman, for her study titled, “Eco-friendly and biodegradable celluloid strips using polymeric carbohydrate extracted from Solanum Tuberosum (Potato)”, which won third place (undergraduate category), out of twelve finalists from prominent dental universities across the country. This achievement reaffirms L-NU’s College of Dentistry’s commitment to research excellence, aligning with the university’s mission.

 

The PDA convention served as a platform for dental professionals and students to engage in educational opportunities, share research findings, and foster a culture of dental excellence. The success of the poster presentation of L-NU College of Dentistry highlighted their dedication to enhancing dental knowledge and their impact in the dental field.
