LYCEAN NEWS | L-NU Showcases Research Excellence at 2-26 R1HRDC Regional Research Conference

Lyceum-Northwestern University (L-NU) proudly showcased its growing research excellence during the 2026 Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC) Regional Research Conference held on June 5, 2026, at the University of Northern Philippines Gymnasium in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

With the theme, “Harnessing Ethical AI for Relevant and Impactful Health Research,” the conference gathered researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, and students from across Region I to present innovative studies addressing current health and societal challenges.

Representing the University were researchers and students from the Research, Innovation, and Extension Management Office (RIEMO), the College of Arts and Sciences – Natural Science Department, the College of Dentistry, and the Dr. Francisco Q. Duque Medical Foundation College of Medicine, demonstrating the University’s strong culture of interdisciplinary research and innovation.

L-NU presented a total of nine research studies across professional and student categories:

Adding to the University’s success, L-NU emerged as the Best Poster Presentation (Professional Category) of Mr. Francis Ivan D. Bolleser, RPm, MSc, through his study “Navigating Stress Through Culture: The Influence of Hiya and Bahala Na Mentality on Coping Strategies of Filipino College Students,” further highlighting the University’s commitment to producing impactful and socially relevant research.

The achievement reflects L-NU’s continuing dedication to advancing knowledge, innovation, and evidence-based solutions that contribute to the development of healthcare, education, and society.
