OVPAA ANNOUNCEMENT | Preliminary Examinations on Flexible Arrangements

In view of the continuing flooding in several areas and major roads leading to the University, the Preliminary Examinations shall be conducted under flexible arrangements on September 8-9, 2026.

The University recognizes that some students may still be experiencing difficulties related to flooding, transportation, power interruptions, internet connectivity, and other circumstances beyond their control. Accordingly, faculty members are reminded to apply the principles of flexible assessment discussed during the September 1, 2026 online training.

Students who are unable to take the examinations on the scheduled dates shall be given the opportunity to take special examinations once they are already able to do so, without disciplinary action or academic penalty solely because of flood-related circumstances. Faculty members are also encouraged to use authentic and alternative assessment strategies, provide reasonable flexibility in deadlines, consider individual student circumstances, and maintain clear communication, fairness, compassion, and academic integrity in all assessment activities.

The OVPAA will strictly monitor the adherence of academic programs and faculty members to this directive to ensure consistent and student-responsive implementation.

Students who need academic assistance, clarification, or guidance may also visit the Academic Affairs Office Virtual Support Desk:

Monday to Friday
9:00 AM–12:00 NN | 1:00 PM–3:00 PM
Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/ypr-bxoo-iek

Above all, we ask everyone to continue prioritizing safety. Your well-being remains our foremost concern, and the University will continue to extend understanding, flexibility, and support as we navigate the present flooding situation together.

Please stay safe and continue to monitor official University announcements for further updates.
